Our Rural Projects: | We have two centers, one in Chatia and another at Korai. |
» Tailoring: | At both the centers, we have started tailoring and embroidery classes for girls, widows, needy, disabled and divorced women. Objective: To help them earn their own living in future. Some have already started. ![]() ![]() |
» Gardening: | The women of our centre at Korai are growing marigold flowers and bananas. Objective: To help them learn and earn. Till now they have earned a small sum from floriculture. Banana plants are yet to bear fruits. ![]() ![]() |
» Computers: | We recently started imparting computer education and providing the students complete their diploma in Computer Application and Multilingual DTP. Objective: To help the students learn IT in their village at an affordable cost. |
» Islamic Classes: | At both the centres we have a weekly discussion class on the rights and duties of women from the perspective of the holy Quran and Hadith. This is addressed by a learned and experienced Hafiz sahib. |
Our Urban Projects: | We have a training center at Khatbin Sahi, Cuttack. |
» Training: | At this center girls and women are taught Tailoring, Embroidery, Fabric painting, Spoken English and Personality Development, Cooking, Islamic Studies and way of living. Special emphasis is on Cooking to boost our Iftar Project, in which we prepare and sell Iftar. Objective: To empower women socially and economically. ![]() ![]() |
» Informal School: | This school is at Sutahat, Cuttack. Here we identify, motivate and teach the drop out girls to complete their education. We propose to link this project with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), to provide authenticity to their certificate. |
» Awareness: | We organize awareness programmes in villages as well as towns and cities. Our team consists of Advocates, Religious teachers, Social activists and Co-ordinators move in a caravan called KARWAIN-ROSHNI. So far we have visited and organized these programs in several villages (Barambarda, Islampur, Kalyani, Darpan, Gope, Haldigaria), and towns (Cuttack, Jatni, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Chatia). Objective: To educate women about their religious and constitutional rights. ![]() ![]() |
» Survey project: | We have started a survey on The Status of Muslim Women in Orissa, starting with the Bhadrak district. Due to financial constraints we are currently conducting the survey at district level. |
